Mavs vs thuggets
The Mavs will have their hands full with this team. In the 4 games this season, they lost all four. Although, that doesn't tell the whole story. The Mavs were in position to win 3 of those 4 but on each occasion, they were missing key personnel.
The thuggets will play a physical, cheapshot style of ball that the Mavs have not seen too much of. They will need to keep their poise and not let the likes of j.r. smith or bird-dork get in their heads. Dirk will see much more of a one on one with the hatchet man known as martin. Dirk is a better player but will need to make his shots and force martin into making bad fouls. The Mavs bench will be the key to this series. Terry and Barea will need to get hot fast and Bass and Singleton will need to be strong forces in addition to providing some scoring. Both teams are coming off of 4-1 wins from the first round and neither team were ever in much trouble. If the Mavs can steal one of the first two in the mile-high (like carmelo in the off season) city, then look for them to wrap it up in 6. If not, this series goes to 7.

Pretty much what I expected from the little thuggets; tough, physical, questionable defense. As ridiculous as the bird-dork looks, there is no doubt that he can play some D. They are as solid as it gets with turnovers and blocks and the Mavs will have to make some adjustments.
Mavs had to feel good about the game going into the 4th because, for everything that they were doing wrong, they were right in the game. The Mavs bench was a no-show, as was defense in the lane and yet they only trailed by 7 and were showing a good push. Then all the air came out. The denver bench went off for 39 points and carmelo came alive scoring most of his 23 pts in the 4th. Game 2 is Tuesday night...

Love the Birdman!
Sorry Nick, but even my NBA retarded mind can tell this will be the end of the road for the Mavs.

All kidding aside; the guy has got a fascinating story to go along with his sick skills. Birdman's redemption bittersweet for his mother - NBA - ESPN
Born in California, his dad moved the family of 5 to small town 100 miles north of Houston, Texas on 10 acres of land when Chris was 4; no house, just a dilapidated barn. And after two weeks of that, the dad split. Apparently, the alimony laws in Texas were far less stringent than in California and some think that he moved the family there on purpose. Miles from anyone or anything, the family had nothing. Neighbors eventually heard about them and would drop off supplies. Years later, Chris would move to Dallas to go to school. He had never played any type of organized sport, but tried out for the basketball team. He dominated, was offered a scholarship but couldn’t keep his grades up. Ended up going over seas to play, joined the D-League and was picked up by Denver. “Friends”, girls and drugs bled him dry and he was suspended for two years. He got sober and, on his own, became heavily involved in community service work; so much so that upon serving the two year suspension, Davis Stern immediately reinstated him. If the story stopped here we’d all have warm fuzzies about a rags-to-riches kids made good, but somewhere along the way he became estranged from his mother and she still lives in the dilapidated barn that he grew up in.

Yea I love birdman's defense, while he does look somewhat like a tool his defense is top notch most of the time.
IF he can just force Nowitzki to take some bad shots as he did yesterday it'll be good. It should be a good series I see Nuggets in 6.

Midway through the first and we are seeing WAY TOO MANY outside jump shots from the Mavs.
Back to back breakaways for the thuggets and the game is tied with the and 1 to follow. The Mavs have got to put someone on their ass and soon.

2:43 left in the 1st; denver has a 4 point lead and things are quickly getting out of hand. 16-4 run.

Now Josh Howard is out until at least the half with ankle problems.
Mavs have way too many soft, stupid fouls. Hand checks while cher is dunking. Stupid, stupid, stupid. End of the 1st sees yet another fast break and dunk. Mavs down 8.

3 fouls for andersen with 7:39 left in the half. Mavs will need to take it right to him from here on out.

Nice close to the half. Really bad decision by smith to jack up a 4 pointer that grazes off the front of the rim, Jason Kidd makes them pay with a cold blooded three. Good run in the 2nd has the Mavs down by only 3 after the thuggets had a double digit lead.

And boom goes the dynamite.
Down by three after three, Carlisle decides to rest Dirk and Kidd to start the 4th?!? Down by three to, in the blink of an eye, down by 11. Now down by 2.

Fouls everywhere.
Mavs like refs no calls vs them. 2 point game. Mavs want to foul, but they like no calls vs themselves, they don't get a foul call. Melo hits the game winner. Josh Howard wants to kill ref Mark Cuban kills camera man Nuggets lead 3-0 NFM
