This Is March Madness

An insane first weekend lives up to the fairy tale hype

It has to be March.

It has to be March when teams like Bucknell , UW Milwaukee, and Vermont suddenly have relevance in the college basketball universe. Is there a better time of the year in sports than this? Not a chance. This year’s...

What a strong debut. Great article, although you did make a few key mistakes. First, Washington will take Louisville. Second, WVU will beat TTU because of Gansey (I had Gansey on my show yesterday, great kid and great story).

Other than that it was solid

Thanks for the kind words. My "mistakes" as you call them will prove to be spot on. I think Louisville is playing good basketball right now and Garcia once again looks electric. I know you love your boy Robinson but they are going run up against a team that can pour points on in a hurry. I think the pressure of the number one seed plays havoc w/ there heads and they go down.........Gansey had a great performance and no one is more aware of that than Bob Knight. He is a master of making the right adjustments, especially defensively and I think he has the right personnel for the job. Thanks again.

Knight, master of adjustments? That's why he's been to one sweet 16 in like 10 years?

Look at the evidence. Nate Robinson comes on Great Americans, they roll out two wins over arizona and got a 1 seed. Play by play guys for Kentucky and carolina come on the program, they dominate. Texas Tech confirms Ross for the program, bow out at the last second, WVU steps up with Gansey.

Face it, Great Americans Karma, untouchable. Also, Washington is simply more talented than Louisville and Texas Tech relies heavily on their guards. If WVU can shut down Wake's backcourt, they can handle a walk on and a former Notre Dame QB.

Just b/c he is great at making adjustments doesn't directly correlate w/ results. If his team can't execute, adjustments or not, it's not going to matter. Not to say Knight's teams should always go far if they would listen to there uncompromising dictator but the man knows hoops. UNC was on a run since the Santa Clara debacle but I do like the fact you interviewed there play by play guy.

first off John outstanding article man!

This is the way that i feel about the brackets in March, You have a better chance of winning the lottery that picking all the games in the bracket correctly. I am in a pool with work and man i thought that i was going to have a chance after the first round with the picks, i mainly chose the ones that were favorite. Now I am getting my ass kicked and my chances of collecting any funds from my co-workers are now down the drain
