I'm from Boston. My life for most of the last 30 years has revolved around not the Championships of the Cetics in 84 but The Throw made in Miami by BC quarterback Flutie. Not the thrashing of the Rockets 4-2 in 86, but the agonizing error by Buckner to let the Series slip away. Or to a much lesser degree Bears just mauling the Pats in Superbowl XX. Even the Bruins in 70 & 72 garnered more talk than the two Celtics championships in between.

So this is the time in the year when I am usually lamenting the Bruins fate. Not watching the Celtics (whom are in first in the Atlantic and 3rd over all) Hey I said I dont have hockey. Even if they are winning I am agonizing over the in between seasons that I am experiencing. I want baseball to start I am waiting for the NFL draft waiting to see who will replace my man Bruschi.
But most of all I am realizing just how much I dont care about basketball. The March Madness is deserved because I am going insane. I just don't care. I know that this might offend some people but I cant get into a sport where you can be up by twenty points with two min left and have that mean absolutely NOTHING!!!!. Why not just have the game be two min long. Why have four quarters? why have the huge amount of time if a team can just obliterate yours in just a few seconds? The dunks are flashy, its cool to see someone steal the ball, but man name another sport where you have to work less for your points. If your down by one in hockey good luck. if your down by ten in football with two min you have a slim chance. In baseball there is no time so there is always hope IF YOU BELIEVE. (had to stick that sox reference in there) Hell even in Soccer (which I really detest) One goal is an eternity .

Earlier this week I sat with a friend at the bar and watched a few tournament games. Every one goes NUTS when their team scores. Then the other team fans got NUTS when their team scores 4 seconds after that. after a while everyone is so hoarse from screaming, that when it comes down to a buzzer beater it sounded like 80 people who needed an iron lung. I just dont get it BABY! More the the point respectfully, I dont care.
