| College Sports This forum is about some weird social strata involving brow-beating, bragging, one-upsmanship and self-proclaimed superiority. Not necessarily involving athletics. |

I am a Texas fan too, I grew up rooting for the Tarheels, my brother fell in love with them after the 82 championship(I was a little young) and turned me on to them shortly there after. I always dreamed of going to UNC, but being from West Texas and Coach Smith not knocking down my door, it was pretty much a pipe dream financially....I root for UT when the two hook up(no pun intended) but my heart breaks when they do because either way I go home sad........The more one reads about Coach Smith, Coach Williams, et all in the Carolina family, the harder it is not to love their way of doing things, they have also had a slew of point gaurds that I have loved to watched from Kenny Smith, Jeff Lebo, King Rice, Derrick Phelps, Ed Cota(until Ray Ray my all time favorite college basketball player) and on to Ray Ray. The secondary break is a thing of beauty in my opinion and I love watching them run the same backdoor screens at an opponent until they catch them sleeping that one time and drop the hammer with the oop....Anyway I could go on and on about my love affair with the Heels, but I will spare you from further boredom for now.
Thanks for the congrats, it was a little extra special because I got to make my first trip to the Hill this year for the Dook game, I am currently trying to convince my Wife that the trip was a good luck omen and needs to be repeated annually!!!! |
