Steve Nash, NBA MVP? Oh, Hell NO!
Without Shaq the Lakers are a lottery team. With Shaq, Miami is the top seed in the East. What the hell else does the Diesel have to prove?
So they give the MVP to Steve Nash? This will go down as the worst MVP pick ever! |

Worst MVP pick ever? I dunno about all that. Seems like Barkley getting it in '93 is a pretty lame choice, seeing as Jordan had better numbers across the board. It's not like the suns sucked the year before and in comes Barkley and puts everyone on his back. The league just couldn't bring themselves to give it to Jordan for a third straight year, regardless of the fact that he deserved it.
Nash is a quality player. MVP caliber? Maybe maybe not. I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that a) he played extremely well and b) the Mavs let him go in the off season. He could have played just as well here in Dallas and been completely over looked. (See Drik Nowitzki.) Below are this years numbers for each player. -------G MP FG FGA 3P 3PA FT FTA ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TO PF PTS Steve 75 2573 430 857 94 218 211 238 57 192 249 861 74 6 245 136 1165 Dirk --78 3020 663 1445 91 228 615 708 96 661 757 240 97 119 176 219 2032 Please don't get anything twisted, I'm not shilling for Dirk here. I'm just sayin'. |

It's not Most Dominant Player it's Most Valuable and the Heat were the 4th seed in the east last year at 42-40 and the Suns were 29-53, way out of the playoffs. The Suns won 33 more games this year. The Heat won 17 more games this year with Shaq. Sure it was a close vote and Shaq is the most dominant player in the league but they got the MVP vote right in the end. Steve Nash executed an exciting run and gun offence and took a team from worst to first in the shortest time possible. You can't deny him this award and I'm sure Shaq will get his chance again but the great white hype from the great white north deserves it this year. |

Yeah, we'll see how long that style of play keeps them in the playoffs. I would rather have the Diesel out there when the play gets more physical in the playoffs. Take Shaq off the Lakers and they are 24 games worse and a lottery team. Take Nash off the Mavs and they are still a top team in the West. Who makes their teammates better? With Shaq always being double teamed, that allow Dwane Wade and Eddie Jones to get more open shots. Shaq has mande Wade a superstar in just his second season in the league. Being the most dominant player in the league is being the most valuble. |

Nash didn't make his teammates better? What do you think Amare and Marion are saying? How 'bout Joe Johnson?
Nash did what he was supposed to do and did it better than anyone else in the league...provide assists and lead the team. You won't find a guy on the Suns that won't agree with you and not just because they're his teammates. Nash also had the third most double-double's in the NBA. So, leading your team, the same team that didn't make the playoffs (okay, Q Richardson was also an addition, but do you really think he would have put them over the top by himself?); won 33 more games than last year; lead the league in assists; third most double-double's in the league doesn't deserve MVP? Oh, wait...I'm trying to reason with a Raider fan. My bad! |

Get over it moron. Nash deserved it but yes Shaq probably should have won because basketball is played on both ends of the court. But as we have seen the Heat can win without Shaq. But it was no where the worst choice ever in the history of voting.

Anyone left who still thinks this guy didn't deserve his title? Everyone in Dallas believes it.

Without Nash, no way the Suns win the series. Even with Amare and Marion. No way the Suns win those last two games.
Miami wins twice without Shaq. Okay, the Wizards aren't the Mavericks, but still. |
