Thoughts on a b-ball trade.....
I'm trading Kobe Bryant, Gilbert Arenas & Amare Stoudemire
FOR Steve Francis, Jalen Rose & Shareef Abdur-Rahim Here's how my roster is at the moment: PG: Arenas SG: Bryant G: Ron Artest SF: Jamal Mashburn PF: Stoudemire F: Caron Butler C: Nene Hilario C: Radoslav Nesterovic Ut: Eric Snow Ut: Carlos Boozer Bench: Desmond Mason, Tyson Chandler & Chris Webber I figure I get a better PG & PF and a damn good SG to replace Kobe. Then, once C-Webb comes back, I'll be that much stronger. That's my opinion, now I want to hear what you guys think of the deal. Does it help me or not??? |

If you think this is unfair, what if Mashburn was in Kobe's place. Also, I was thinking about Kobe & Butler FOR McGrady & Donyell Marshall if Gman would be willing to do it.

Francis for Arenas may be a little bit in your favor, but I think that you're getting the short end of the stick as it relates to Kobe & Amare for Rose and Rahim. Although Rahim is a dam good player,I still think that Amare is the better player and there's no comparison when it come to Kobe vs Rose. When Webber is able to come back, your team will be even stronger with Kobe and Amare than will be with Rose and Rahim.Personally I wouldn't make the trade, but it's your team and should do what you think is best, that's my thought.

i would do it in a heartbeat...........Kobe is too much of a risk right now with his knee and this rape charge and plus the fact having Shaq, Payton and Malone do you think Kobe will still average around 30 points a game along with 6+ rebounds????

I don't know. I've had alot of people tell me not to do it. But, focal, you bring up some good points as to why to do it. After looking at their stats from last season, it looks like it would be in my favor. I'm hoping I can get McGrady instead.

Here are another couple trade ideas:
Kobe, Desmond Mason & Butler FOR McGrady, Billups & Marshall or Kobe & Chandler FOR McGrady & Keon Clark |

Crash, don't listen to this dumb *ss idiot,Kobe may not average 30 pts per game like last year, but he'll still be close to or average in the twenties. Neither Gary nor Karl will score much as their role onthis team will not be to score points.Gany's role is to push the ball up court and set up Shaq and Kobe and score when he has to.Karl's primary role with the Lakers is to give Shaq help with rebounding and to provide some low post scoring geared to take away some of the double teams on Shaq in the post. both players will average close to or a little over double digits in scoring ,but the majority of the Lakers scoring will still come from Shaq and Kobe.

Have the entire Lakers played together in a preseason game yet?

I'd feel more comfortable if he would take Boozer or Hilario instead of Stoudemire. Any opinions on my offers for McGrady?

No,Shaq is nursing a sore heel and aside from Kobe's trips to Colorado and his trying to get in shape after his knee and shoulder ooerations, all the starters haven't played together as yet. Kobe says he'll be ready and in the lineup for the last two pre-season games this coming Thurs. and Fri. Shaq would be playing if this was the regular season and will just rest the last two exibition games and be ready to go at the start of the season.

Alright. I say I won't do the deal unless he takes Mashburn instead of Kobe or unless he takes Hilario or Boozer instead of Stoudemire. How does that sound? And if he won't take either of those I'll move on to try and get McGrady. What do you guys think?

i would still look to move Kobe if you can. I don't who is in your league and their take on the kobe situation or how high they value him. I would still try to move him now that he will stand trial. if you can get great value in return it could be well worth it. Plus you gotta wonder about his knee.
and here it comes once again. |
