Iverson over Wade? Excuse me?

Okay...I don't know the exact stats of each player. But, can someone please explain how Allen Iverson made first team All-NBA over Dwayne Wade? Is this really deserved?
With as much time as Shaq missed this year due to injury, the Heat still had the second best record in the NBA...due in large part to Wade! What did AI do for the Sixers?

KP, I think you should have taken a look at the stats before you posted. Shaq played 73 of the 82 games, i wouldn't count missing 9 games as missing time. Wade obviously has the better team around him. Iverson's 2nd a 3rd leading scorers were Mark Jackson and Kyle Korver (with the exception of the 21 games Chris Webber was with them, which is only 25% of the season).

Iverson had more PPG 30 to 24. Iverson had more assists per game 8 to 6.8. Iverson had more steals per game 2.4 to 1.6. Iverson had a better FT% and 3 point %. The only real stat Wade was better at was Rebounding.

But if you just throw out stats you have to compare what each player had to work with. Iverson took a bunch of nobody's to the playoffs. And please don't anyone jump on me about putting Wade down, because I am not. I am merely saying why Iverson got 1st team and Wade did not.

Cool....thanks for the stats. Like I mentioned, I didn't look them up before I posted. It just struck me as so odd that I left work early, rushed home and logged on to the Rant to post this. There was nothing else on my mind but getting to the Rant message boards, even if I did have to take half a vacation day just to make the first post of this thread, it was worth it because it's the Rant. And, there's NOTHING more important than the Rant.

I knew some well-informed Rant poster would set me straight. Thanks!

BTW, yes, I am blathering on about the Rant to try to get some points back from the Original Rant Daddy....Mike. I think that should be his new handle hear on the World Famous Rant....O.R.D. Original Rant Daddy! Anyone else agree?

Seriously, Btown, thanks for setting the record straight. Whenever I think of Iverson I think 30% shooting on 45 shots a game and underachievement in the playoffs. Maybe I got caught up in the media hype during these playoffs.

Good old Iverson, definately having a good season to what most of us typically see him as shooting his heart out.

Iverson deserved 1st team because of no supporting cast. Wade yes could make a case but look at Points and Assists from iverson. 30 and 8 = 46 points a game going through him. probably half of what his team scored.
