It's a day to honor those who have fallen, particularly in the military. Not sure about Remembrance day, but I know Canada has an equivelant. The traditions are similar, down to wearing Poppies, etc.

There is no equivalent, that I know of. Our closest holiday is Victoria Day (May 23), and it has nothing to do with war or soldiers. Remembrance Day is what the rest of the free world celebrates, but it's on November 11.

Curious: Any particular reason why you celebrate it in May?

It was started after the Civil War ended. I'm assuming it got put in May because the Civil War ended in April & then w/the natural progression of events, they decided to set it up in May.

search for "drazen petrovic book" on top searchers (yahoo and google), it really great book about drazen.
