SportsRant To Initiate Drug Testing Program

Please be advised that the SportsRant will conduct random drug testing of it's posters to begin July 1, 2005. In the spirit of new drug testing policies of many
professional sports leagues, it seems only fiting that those discussing these leagues on a public forum should be held to the same...

If I'm not mistaken, this is in clear violation of the current CBA and could cause an immediate post-stoppage if not rescinded and an apology provided to all members.

The posters union rep will be in contact with the league offices and I understand Congress has something to say on the matter as well. Nevertheless, we will not give in. We have our rights and even though illegal substances are, well, illegal, we will not be subject to enforcment of the law.

The policy stands.Replacement posters will be brought in if necessary.
The SportRant league offices consist of the back half of a one car garage, so good luck with your union rep even finding the office.Look, this testing is for your own good. The SportsRant just wishes it posters not to have Barry Bonds size heads.
OK,OK.....you drive a hard bargain.Let's say we allow banned substances that can be smoked and reduce the first offense ban from 30 days to 24 days.

Hiding the league office will not save you, and the reduced sentences still are WAY too strict. We might be talked into the following: allow substances smoked and taken orally and reduce the first offense to 6 hours.

But really, the policy in place (no policy at all) is working just fine and we should give it more time to take hold. Let's not give up on it so easily.

I don't know. What kind of message are we sending the kids....the future SportsRant posters who look up to us.And what about the certain posters
who it's already to late for and the brain damage has already set in as evidenced by there incoherent posts? We can't just do nothing.

Substances smoked and inhaled only;first offense 14 days.
Man,this negotiating table stuff ain't as easy as I thought!

We are clearly getting nowhere with this. My suggestion would be to have a 3 day summit in, say, San Diego so that both side can sit down and discuss all options.

Oh, and of course the league will be obligated to pick up the tab on this; for good faith reasons.

P.S. - Other locations to be approved by the union.

Agreed!
Mike,we will need a per diem and some travelers checks.
I'm thinking the negotiations will drag on.
I say after three days in SD,lets move the talks to Vegas where we can clear our heads and then make some real progress. We should have a deal by then,
but just in case, better plan on spending a few days in New Orleans to dot the I's and cross the T's on the legal end of the agreement.
And remember everyone.....Just say no to drugs!!!!

Is percocet a drug?

What about with a chaser of Bushmills?

Percocet a drug? Are you kidding me? Percocet is like m&m's after a long day posting. Taking 2 WITH the chaser hardly works anymore, but we still have to have them. That's like telling the NBA "hey you guys can't smoke out anymore"! Please!

See, this is what I'm talking about, the misinformation and such is astounding. Percocet a drug...phhtt.

Mike, what is the status on the hotel? I hear that the Hotel Del Coronado is available.

SportsRant must maintain a hard line stance this early in the negotiation stage.
More importantly, where the heck is my limo to take me to the airport? I need my itinerary for pete's sake!

to this point and all others, we can start a steriod policy for this site. No perdiem or travel expences can be paid due to management at sportsrant being broke and over budget
