IMO, they have Arizona State and Purdue up too high and Iowa too low.
But other than that i don't see anything that is too "off the wall". Rusty, you've gotta love the pre-season ranking at least! |

They have Iowa way too low!!!!! That's ridiculous, Iowa has a good shot of winning the big 10 this season.

Preseason polls are ridiculous, IMO. They should wait until after the first four games of the year to rank teams. The Rant did a weekly poll a couple years ago...maybe you guys will get lucky and the Rant will do it again.

I know I should be more optimistic, but I don't see how the Vols defensive secondary can improve enough in one season to win a championship. We better beat Spurrier at least.

I would rather have Iowa be ranked too low than too high and get royally screwed if OSU or Michigan should happen to beat them. The pollers always drop Iowa a lot farther after a loss than Mich or OSU, even when the loss is comparable.

Hey Rock, even if Texas is good... They still have to play oklahoma a team they haven't beat in a while. If they get by that road block they should have a good chance with Vince Young. But until i see them beat Oklahoma I will not say they are going to win the Nat'l Championship.

But @ Oregon is never a walkover either.
Your scUMmers learned that a couple of years ago, Jay. Anyway, Coaches poll came out today...and yes, it's jacked up. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/colle...l/usatpoll.htm 1. USC (60) Duh. 2. Texas (2)...I wonder who gave them those two first place votes... 3. Tennessee...I have no problem with this, but they'll fall eventually anyway 4. Michigan...I didn't know teams with zero defense were thought this highly of 5. Oklahoma...Overrated 6. LSU...sounds about right 7. Virginia Tech...this works too, as long as Ronnie Mex's little brother stays out of trouble 8. Miami...I don't know what they did to deserve this spot 9. Ohio St....perfect 10. Iowa...also perfect 11. Florida...SEC sleepers 12. Florida St....Who knows what will happen now that God isn't quarterback 13. Georgia...not this good 14. Louisville...don't care 15. Auburn...don't care 16. Purdue...easiest Big Ten schedule in history 17. Texas A&M...your 2005 Big XII champs 18. Arizona St....will give USC a run 19. Boise St....don't care 20. Cal...don't care, but hope they beat USC 21. Texas Tech...everyone loves gimmicky offenses 22. BC...will get hammered in ACC 23. Virginia...don't care 24. Alabama...watch out for these guys 25. Pittsburgh...Dave Wannstedt...LOL 3 Ohio St. opponents in the top ten, and two of them come to Columbus. I can't wait for September 10th when the Buckeyes show off how great the Big Ten is this season. Texas won't be ranked #2 for long. |

No, of course Oregon is no walkover (that game SUCKED!!), and neither are some other teams on their schedule. So of course the COULD lose a game, it's still really highly unlikely.
