The BCS

I nominate the BCS for Jackass of the Week because only in the BCS is the #1 and most deserving team of playing in the National Championship game, left on the outside looking in. I tried to defend the BCS earlier in the year, but I can't take it any more. College football will never be right until the BCS is replaced with a playoff system.

I like the BCS. USC should have been the one to get left out.

If they won a PAC 10 conference championship game they probably would have jumped LSU in the BCS.

Play the toughest team in your conference at the end of the year and then I will have sympathy for you.

They can't help the fact that their conference is behind the times. They did what they were supposed to do and won all but one game...just like LSU & OU. Forget that they lost to Cal, remember they're #1 in TWO polls.

I hope this provides incentive for the Pac 10 to add a team or two to get a conference championship. It's just not fair that OU had to play the winner of the other half of the conference and USC didn't.

LSU had to beat a top 10 team in Georgia TWICE to get to the Sugar. OU had to do the same (well sort of K State is a really good team - top 15). This is a lot tougher.

In my mind the Pac 10, Big 10, and all those conferences without championship games should lose all ties in a situation like that. Kids should consider that when they choose what school they go to.

I don't think anyone disputes LSU's right to go.

On OU.

Why should OU be punished for losing to a BCS AND top 15 team while USC should skate by after losing to 7-6 Cal.

Why should a loss later in the season hurt them especially when OU played the superior team? That's what the polls did. If OU lost to K-State early in the season and then beat them in the championship game we wouldn't even have had a controversy.

Also, If OU could have not played a championship game (like USC) we wouldn't have had this controversy.

Excuse me? I don't think anyone has been more critical of Lord this season, let alone NU as a whole.

Even if OU is deserving, so is USC and that's what I'm talking about here.

Of the three teams that those big three all lost to, USC definitely lost to the weakest team. I almost hope they lose to Michigan so everyone will shut up.
