Make your picks for the series?

I know the race in the AL isnt over yet but both those teams will make the playoffs. Who do you all think will be in the series?

I'm going out on a limb and taking the Braves to actually make it and defeat the Yanks. I'm not scared of the Cards and from what i hear, Bobby Cox will start to beat his wife again this year. If you don't remember, in '95 this was big news and the Braves won that year. Now i dont condone the mistreatment of women but unless we can sit Cox and let Mazzone coach in Oct, the wife must pay her dues for a new necklace and Bobby's new ring!

That is one skinny limb and you are in for a fall when it breaks.
I'm shocked there are still any Braves limbs left to climb out on.
I would love to see a Braves-Red Sox world series, but it won't happen.

I really have no preference who wins the Series as long as it is not that bunch of whining ner-do-wells who deserve nothing but our complete contempt and scorn, otherwise known as the Boston Dead Sox.

Other than a Phillies miracle this weekend, nothing would make me happier than watching the Yanks beat the Sox right out of the playoffs.

Cards vs. Yanks in THE Series!

Just somehow I dont think the Yanks will get into the playoffs. Cleveland is playing its heart out and Boston is too. In the series, I have no real sense right now, but I believe that the conituation of this pattern that we have seen forthe past few years will occur again, with teh wild card winner taking it. The leauges have switched off with wins the past four years with all the teams coming from the wild card.

2004- Red Sox (AL)
2003- Marlins (NL)
2002- Angels (AL)
2001- Diamondbacks (NL)

Pattern would tell us that it will be the Stros with victory this year.

I never pull for Philly but i want them to make the wild card so Houston is out. Philly doesnt scare me as much as facing Clemens, Petite and Oswalt.

Actually, Arizona won the NL West division crown that season. St. Louis was the Wild Card for the National League in 2001.

Guess the Yankees made it all the way back to win the division. As an Angel fan, that is good news. I'd much rather play the Yankees than the Red Sox.

Wouldn't bother me at all to see Boston get shut out of the playoffs this year.

Here's my Series prediction: Angels over Cardinals in six.

Unfortunately, they did. I was hoping Boston would get the division title, but there was really a very slim chance the Red Sox would be able to win the division. Coming into the series, the Yankees lead the season series 9-7. The Sox would have needed to sweep the Yankes to not only bump the Yankees out of the playoff race, but to also assure themselves a division title.

Damn those Yankees anyway.
