How can people not grasp the concept of this poll? Maybe you should make the criteria a sticky or something. All the teams without a loss are ranked first, and then the teams with 1 loss, and then the teams with 2 losses. Its a simple concept really. Its just a different format than most are used to seeing.

Good idea, BTown, I'll post the criteria along with each new week. Maybe then some of the know-it-alls will understand.... ssig, you should know better...unless this was the first poll thread you've looked at. |

Ya just gotta win! That’s the way it is as far as the NCAA National Championship game goes, and that’s good enough for the Rant. If you’re undefeated to this point, you’re considered for ranking. If you’re not, than you’re not. Quit crying Miami and Ohio State and Clemson and Michigan and Tennessee. You should have won your games. But, there’s still a chance to get in to the Rant poll at a later date. Not every team listed in this initial poll will remain undefeated, at which point we’ll rank based on losses. A team that is undefeated will always be ranked above a team with a loss, and so on. Also, if two teams have the same amount of losses but one has beaten the other, the team that won will be ranked above the team they beat.
We’ve ranked what we feel to be the top 25 undefeated teams in the land. This is our first installment following the third week of the season. We wait until the third game for two reasons: 1) The out of conference schedule is generally complete and the conference schedule begins. 2) We can get a feel of what a team has and doesn’t have after three weeks. Our rankings will also be based on which team will beat those below them. |
