Miami moves past Alabama in AP Top 25 (AP)

Miami jumped over unbeaten Alabama, though just barely, and into the No. 3 spot in The Associated Press Top 25. The Hurricanes (7-1) moved up two spots Sunday in the media poll behind No. 1 Southern California and No. 2 Texas, a day after their 27-7 victory at previously unbeaten Virginia Tech. Alabama improved to 9-0 with a 17-0 win at Mississippi State, but stayed put in the Top 25.

This is so stupid. This is why I hate these polls.

This is why the Rant Poll is the best poll. A one loss team ranked ahead of an undefeated team from a top conference?

Maybe the pollsters are considering whether or not the team above would beat the team below. Oh, wait....they still rank a team, like Miami, ahead of the team they lost to, Florida State. (I know the Seminoles have since lost a second game, so now the point is moot).

So, maybe the pollsters think Miami would beat Alabama so they rank them ahead of the Tide. If that is the case, I guess the loss of the Canes starting RB, Tyrone Moss, doesn't mean a whole lot.

KP, i wouldn't get too worked up over it quite yet. If Alabama beats #5 LSU and then #12 Auburn I guarantee they will be ahead of Miami if they beat Wake, GA Tech and Virginia. Miami has beaten better competition to this point after the drubbing of VA Tech. And they only have a 3 point loss to #17 Florida.

They very well could lose one of those games... i'm just saying they will be ahead of Miami if they win both.

And your right, thanks... Alabama beat Florida, Miami lost to Florida St. Thanks for the clarification.
