Sure we all travel to ESPN.com to check out the latest news. Sure we all watch SportsCenter or ESPN News, but is it really worth it? ESPN.com is quickly becoming Ad Central for the entire internet. They deploy programming methods to allow pop up ads on people’s computers, even though they have pop...

Amen to that. If we just had standings and stats here, there would be no need to go to any other sports site.

I have found that CBS Sportsline is much better than ESPN. I have thought that for years, actually. Yahoo! Sports is really making progress too. But my favorite overall is Deez.

I use Yahoo the most, with CBS.sportsline a close 2nd. But for hockey I use tsn.ca, they are just incredible when it comes to hockey. I never, i mean NEVER go to ESPN for sports anymore... unless they have a live chat with someone i care about. I do love ESPN radio however, and of course the ESPN channels are 2nd to none in the states.
The problem with coming to the rant is the big stories aren't posted for hours upon hours after they actually happen. Which is not something i'm complaining about because this doesn't need to be a place for big news stories. This should be a place for people to rant about the big news stories. However, I LOVE the idea of having all the standings updated daily on the site. Which I would certainly volunteer for if someone is needed to take some pressure off of the rant daddy. I could go on for hours on this subject, but i will save you all from the boringness. |

Actually spending time on the standings, day to day, would be a beating. I was thinking of something automated, that is what would be great

Do I...
Watch Sportscenter - No, dreadful show. Go to ESPN.com - Never, awful website and very confusing the last time I was there. Listen to ESPN Radio - Yes. The local station is actually pretty good here in Pittsburgh. Especially for the drive home, the talk show host is really very entertaining even though 90% of the talk centers around the Steelers. Mike and Mike in the morning are ok, but sometime I have to turn them off because they start talking about something I couldn't care less about.

Mike, wasn't there a time when we did have an automated thing for live scores on the site that linked you to CBS Sportsline or something?
And yes Gunnerman, ESPN Radio in Pittsburgh is very good. I listened to it often when I lived there. Unfortunately, sports radio in Wisconsin obviously centers around the Packers, who I really don't care about. |
