The Jester's Quart: Herm on Wry

It's become a nonchalant, mechanical question the morning after a football Sunday.

"So, how'd your team do yesterday?"

Typically, you get this question when you're a stranger in a strange land - a fan of an out-of-town team. Everyone knows how the home team did. Here in Washington, the fate...

greg, i feel your pain...as a fellow jet fan, i've had to sit through one eyed wr's, roger vick and the increasing feeling of what could've been with brett favre over browning nagle, emmit smith over blair thomas, warren sapp anchoring the line with marvin jones and moe lewis....

i've said it for 3 years now, curtis martin is done..he is no threat to break a long run...constantly falls forward and never breaks a tackle...they made a big mistake letting lamont jordan go...now they must move on w/o martin and get a young rb in the mix...blaylock is not the answer

as far a new coach goes, i agree...herm's play calling is atrocious and costs us the game to often...roll him, martin and pennington up into a ball and shoot them out of a cannon out to k.c....who i hope takes them all

Re: Blaylock

That's a tough one for me to handle, as I hoped he would not only fill Jordan's void but be a better pass-catching RB out of the backfield. I'm not willing to cut the cord on him as a third-down guy, but clearly this team needs to look elsewhere for a starting running back within the next two years.

he's merely a backup at best...i wanna see reggie bush in green and white next year...dump pennington to anyone and try to get a qb thru the draft or free agency...or even give fiedler the helm for a year..he can't be any worse than vinny

I'd love Reggie Bush, too. But at the same time, can you believe the Jets still might have a shot at the postseason?!
