This is just the reason why baseball needs a cap like the other sports. Steinbrenner is trying to buy a championship like he always does. What for god is their team salary going to be!!!

Yankee fans are some of the most dedicated fans in the world, but their team is bought, something that they will never believe. I guess that is why they are and will always bee one of the best teams in the league

But Maddux can...luckily not very good anymore...but with an offense like that, he won't need to be great. He could win 15 games with an ERA over 5.00.

Pitching should be a little weaker with no Clemons and no Pettit. That means 2 out of 5 of the playoff rotation is gone.
