I dont really go for that country vs country format coz i think each individual regardless of wether they are from the Canada or US, has talent uniquely his own.still, i think the fight card is awesome. i think it promises to be a spectacular night! I'm glad the UFC is bringing back the lightweights division in general and Edwards specifically. Also im looking forward to the Ace vs Crow main event.

I was really unimpressed with Kenny Florian through the TV Show, but now that I've seen him fight a few more times, I think he's starting to look pretty good. He's really good at getting his opponents in an Americana and just tearing them apart with his ground and pound. I don't see Loiseau doing anything against Franklin; Crow is a talented fighter, but he has been kind of an underachiever. I think the only Middleweight who can beat Georges St. Pierre right now is Matt Hughes. If Hughes beats Gracie later this year they have to give GSP another shot at him.

There is too much boxing on that night for me to even consider watching this.
Showtime has - Jeff Lacy (21-0) v. Joe Calzaghe (40-0) HBO has - Miguel Cotto (25-0) v. Gianluca Bronco (36-1) |

I haven't gotten to see Cotto fight, but Jeff Lacy's left is deadly

Cotto is a hard puncher and throws alot of punches. He's alot of fun to watch, but will be beaten once he runs into a guy who is faster and hits harder because he has a shaky chin. Ricky Hatton or Floyd Mayweather would crush him. As far as the UFC fights go, I'm rooting for Franklin, Swick, Sanchez, and St. Pierre. |

I would love to see Hatton and Mayweather go toe-to-toe. Floyd Mayweather has one of the weirdest styles I've ever seen, but his handspeed is so quick that he tears people up

Hatton v. Mayweather MUST MUST happen soon. Two of the best fighters in the world right now, and both right about the same weight. Mayweather could be one of the best fighters to ever live, but he needs to fight the other current champs to prove it.

I agree, I wasn't impressed with his win over Gatti, just because you could tell they were on two different levels. He needs to find some tough competition or else he'll have to jump weight classes. That could take down his speed if he goes up or his power if he goes down.

Floyd started at 130 and fought his last two fights at 147. So he has been moving up pretty steadily. (thats 4 weight classes). He's just the best pound for pound fighter in the world, and makes anyone he fights look like they are a class below him. But he hasn't fought many of the best guys at 140 and 147 yet, maybe that could change.
Sig, i honestly don't care where they are from. Is St. Pierre the only one i picked from Canada? I just want to see guys I like winning and getting the title shots. |
