in dire need of help

i missed my live draft so i just found out my team...after pre-ranking..i'm loaded with pitchers...i got pedro, clemens, loaiza, lowe, beckett, joel pineiro & mark redman....and we only start 2 and have 3 other pitcher spots

my closers suck though..i got mantei, kelvim escobar & guillermo mota from the dodgers....2 of them aren't even closers!!! my other problem is 3rd & 2nd..where i got batista from baltimore and michael young from texas......

anyone have any ideas or trade ideas on who i should get rid of & who would be equal for guys like lowe or pedro

Actually, Batista is an Expo and Michael Young will be eligible at SS after 15 games (if it's a Yahoo league) due to Soriano's arival. Anyway, you could probably do alot worse than those two (especially Young), so I would focus on getting a 2nd closer. Mota is a good reliever, but it isn't likely he'll be traded to a team where he can close. He still might be worth holding onto though (like Dotel & Lidge last season). If you're loaded at SP, then I'd either cut Escobar for a RP or try trading him for one...so check the FA list for closers and check out other rosters for teams who need SP and have RP to spare. Even if you have to give up a better SP for a good closer, you'll have enough SP left over. Is Shawn Chacon available? He's listed as a SP, but he will close for the Rockies. Out of curiousity, who do you have filling up the rest of your roster?

i need to get rid of one of my first baseman...but noone's gonna trade a good closer for a 1b since you can get a million good 1b's.....

Miguel Cabrera is available on the FA list?! I'd definitely take a chance on him over Batista. At least he'd have more trade value. With Reyes, he will be eligible at 2B as well, once he plays 15 games there, as the Mets now have Kazuo Matsui at SS. Your starting OF looks great, so you could try trading Lee since he's on your bench. Or, you could trade off both of your 1Bers and put Pujols at 1B and Lee in the OF. If you can't get good pitching for Thome & Sexson, you're not going to get any good pitching. I'd say definitely pick up Chacon, Drew & Cabrera. Who else would you be cutting besides Batista?

That'd be alright. Then you could trade some hitting for another RP.
