Its just too bad you hadn't posted this yesterday morning. The people who had Cananda advancing to the 2nd round wouldn't have been right anyway. Canada played well, no question... but they are going home.

But I will agree.. Stern was a STUD in the 3 games the Canadians got to play. Canada played one good game out of the 3.... sure, that gives them some hope for the future of Canadian baseball. But lets not forget the fact they played bad games vs. S. Africa and Mexico.

I was a day late and a dollar short on this one. I was writing stories from the Quicken Loans Arena for the Mid-American Conference Tourney. Being part Canadian (hold the jokes its not enough to effect me) I am proud that they won a game and no one died in the process. But the U.S. is moving on, and I have to make sure I have a seat on the bandwagon.

I love this set up for the tourney... Canada beats the USA like the dogs they are.. and yet both have 2-1 records and the USA advances... Never seen a set up like that in any tourney I have played in..if its a tie..the team the beat the other advances..I am guessing the USA had a huge hand in setting up the rules..lol

But it is just baseball.. a game I love to play..but damn..how can you sit and watch the most boring sport in the world..paint drying is more exciting then watching this "sport" and oh.. I have a hang nail..please sit me out for a week..lol

LOL! Yes Jim, Curling is so much more exciting than baseball.

Also, USA beat Mexico 2-0... Canada lost to them 10-0. USA beat S. Africa 17-0, Canada beat them 10-8. If you can't see why the USA should advance over them, then you are a bigger fool than once thought.

cause losing 10-0 and wining 10-8 is clearly better than winning 17-0 and 2-0

Okay then ol' wise one... break this tie for me, and explain how should be in the 2nd round....

Canada 2-1 - beat USA 8-6, Lost to Mexico 10-0
Mexico 2-1 - lost to USA 2-0, beat Canada 10-0
USA 2-1 - lost to Canada 8-6, beat Mexico 2-0.

You see everyone beat one team and lost to another. So explain to us how the "team that beat the other" would advance here.

Canada scored 8 runs against those teams and gave up 16. (-8 run difference)
Mexico scored 10 and gave up 2. (+8 run difference)
USA scored 8 and gave up 8. (0 run difference)
