As a former soldier, it hearts my heart, all the way to the bottom, when I read stories about soldiers dying!!! God bless Tillman and his family and all the others too.... This makes me speechless...

My father served for 18 years, so I know of the military life. I feel the same way when it come to people dying during war.

Post Pat Tillman killed in action

Absolutely sad day as we come to know that Pat Tillman, a great football player who walked away from a multi-million dollar deal, to join the Rangers to go fight in Afghanistan.

This is a true show of patriotism, an act of selfishlessness. What a great man, and he should be remembered.

Such a sad ending for such a brave man. He served this country well, and will be remembered as a true American hero.

God bless, and rest in peace Pat.

I heard it this morning and was in shock. I went to ASU at the same time as him. Although I didn't really know him, he put a lot back into the community in the Phoenix area. It drives me crazy to see all these scum bags walking around on the street selling drugs, killing people, etc. Then to see Pat Tillman, a man whose life had a purpose, get killed like this.

RIP Pat Tillman.

Patriotism

Tillman is an American hero. During many of wars throughout history, Americans have had to make sacrifices. In this war, the only people who must make sacrifices are our troops. Tillman gave up a charmed life to sacrifice for his country. Would Bush do the same?

Tillman is/was A Man's Man! Young men in this country should look no further for a role model. If you want to emulate a sportsfigure, a hero, a man, Pat Tillman is The Man! My thoughts have been with Pat's family and his wife Marie since early this morning.

The NFL should name an annual award after him and make it mandatory that all teams in the league honor his memory with a patch for the 2004 season.

Hard core 11B, rough tough 75th Ranger. He died with honor for his team, squad and platoon and I'm sure he took some of those bastards with him. Honor him by enlisting like me, and finish the job.

I am not going to trash the death of Pat Tillman KIA, it is a total tragedy I agree. He did sacrifice his like for his country and what he believed in. My heart is with his Wife and family.

BUT

What about the rest of the American soldiers that are dying over in Iraq and Afghanistan. I mean they are dying also and they don't get the tribute that Tillman did. I know it was his status and what he gave up, but what about the rest of the kids
