Why are the Cavs in the poll but the Suns and Nets (who have a better record) aren't?

Good question, Jay...the Suns have a chance.

I don't see anyone getting past San Antonio in the West however. I'm saying a Detroit/San Antonio rematch with the Pistons taking it again.

They just remind me of the Lakers who would kind of coast throught the regular season...even to the point of 60+ wins....and then destroy people in the playoffs.

definetly have to agree here. new jersey and miami are probably the only two teams that can be beat detroit in the east. sund obviously have to be in this also. with that said i'll say detroit because they are probably the most balanced. but to tell you the truth dont really know i havent watched an nba game this year. just going on what i hear on mike and mike in the morning.

Cavs or Pistons

I think both the Cavs and Pistons will advance and have a showdown. Whoever wins that series will advance and win it all.

Suns don't stand a chance w/o 'mire. Nash is really, really, good and had the numbers been right he would still be a Maverick (making the Mavs a lock). Nevertheless, look for the suns to get by the lakers in 6, by the clippers in 7 and get drilled by the Mavs in the Conf Finals. Detroit SHOULD walk through the east with little to no trouble. Best series will be Mavs/Spurs in the 2nd round (Mavs in 6 by the way).
Now, on to my 'homerism' as jays will no doubt claim. No team, and I mean NO TEAM is as deep as the Mavericks. Not only are they deep, but Avery is actually using it. Unlike most coaches who shorten their bench in the playoffs, Avery is utilizing his. Additionally, look out if Dampier can actually string together multiple games like Game 1. Expect Dallas to win it all this year and Dirk will be the first Euro to ever lead his team to a championship.

I voted for every team, because Mike forgot to make it so you could only select one team, as he should have.

That said, the Spurs are going to win it again this year. They are damn good.

I won't call it homerism here because you are 100% right. The Mavs (when healthy) are the deepest team in the NBA. The Mavs are my 2nd favorite team in the playoffs, and i will be right next to you rooting them on. Since the year started i've been rooting for a Wizards/Mavs final. I know the Wiz have no shot so i'm all Mavs right now. Good luck!!!

I don't expect another showing like Gm 2 vs the spurs, but it would be nice.
