Kevin Harvick

Nice sweep by Kevin Harvick in Phoenix this week-end. Hopefully Richard Childress racing is back to stay now.
Tony Stewart went from last to first and wound up finishing 2nd.
He has now led evey race at some point this season.

Wow! 3rd in points now and running away with the Busch series.
A good weekend for my 2nd favorite driver and favorite Tony Stewart who finished 2nd.
Awesome finish in the Busch series with Robby Gordon side by side with Kurt
Busch in the interloop. One of the best finishes I have ever seen.

What is that weird "green light/red light" thing in the pits. Now i realize i don't watch much NASCAR but I don't remember seeing that before. I think it was one of the Buschs' who got screwed because the light turned red seconds before he entered the pits. Are you not allowed to pit when that red light comes on?

Right. What happened was that the crew realized there was an incident on the track that would bring out the yellow so they tried to get Busch in there
before the yellow came out and pit lane would be closed. If they pulled it off,
Busch would go back to the front once pit lane was opened an all the other
cars would pit.Since he didn't quite make it,the crew should have told him to drive through and come back around.Well, they serviced him anyway forcing Nascar to penalize him and send him to the end before the green flag dropped. So,what it amounts to is that the crew took a huge chance to what amounts to trying to get away with cheating the system.

Ah okay, so he could have just gone through without penalty. I was wondering about that because the law of physics says there isnt' a chance he could have braked in time to avoid entering the pits after that light changed to red. Thanks for the clarification... i've never seen that before.

Yeah, and considering what a good car Busch had and with still an outside
chance of making the chase, it was a horrible decision to take that risk.
He wound up going to the back and getting wrecked.Even if he drove through,he would have lost a ton of posistions with a 35mph pit row speed.
