I guess you all don’t want to see history, do you?

I guess you all don’t want to see history, do you?
By: Jimmy Smith

Barry Bonds, undoubtedly the best baseball player of my lifetime and yours, has become everyone’s favorite athlete to hate.

His swing is painful; seeing fans boo him is even worse, but he is still hanging in there to prove...

No,I don't want to see anymore history involving Bonds.
As far as you're article goes, you lost me at "Barry Bonds, undoubtedly the best baseball player of my lifetime and yours"
Sorry,but I was alive to see Mays,Aaron,Rose,Seaver,Clemente,etc
Even now,I'll take Pujols and Arod.

Its about time someone else feels the same

Jimmy, I can't agree with you more. I am sick of all this crap regarding Bonds...I understand he is chasing one of the most elusive records in baseball history and that a dark cloud shadows him where ever he goes, but lets face it a lot of players did steroids. Just read Jose Conseco's book "Juiced" and it all as come true. Everyone from Sosa, Giambi, Palmerio, McGwire, Bret Boone, Brady Anderson...the list goes on. On top of it all you take Sosa, Palmerio, Boone and Anderson and they have fallen off the map. Sosa was on a downward spiral but the minute hard testing came out he simply fell off the earth. Yet a man and arguably the best hitter of the past 30 years is still here and showing all that he is more than capable. In the past 7 games he is batting over .400 with 3 homers and double-digit RBI's...on top of all that he is 2nd in OBP and 1st overall in walks. This all for a guy who takes off about every third game. If the pitchers want to challenge him he will start to hit and the Giants will begin to run away with the pathetic NL West. In my mind there are tons and tons of players who took steriods and since Barry has never tested positive I will enjoy watching him chase history with an aling knee and elbow. The bottom line is he can hit and 714 will soon be a 3rd place statistic as Bonds rises to 2nd all time. As for getting to Hank...we will just have to keep watching.

it pains me to say it but bonds is one of the best players of all time. he is better than rose and clemente, but not mays. mays had so many tools it is sick. cant really throw pitchers in this discussing. aaron was good but he played more seasons and had more ab's then say babe ruth. aaron had something like 4,000 more ab's then ruth. ruth and mays are definetly better than bonds. ted williams is close, but he lost a lot of time due to the war. bonds as far as hitters go is about third all time. he is better than arod. pujols i believe has great potential to have a better overall career. he has put together some of the best seasons to start a season.

Bonds still couldn't throw out slowfooted Sid Effing Bream from left field on a bloop hit, greatest ever my arse.

Who was better?
Aaron, Clemente, Mays and Mantle to name a few.....

aaron is not better like i said had so many more ab's, and the reason for that is due to the fact that aaron isnt as dominating as ruth and bonds. aaron did not change the way a manager approaches game like ruth and bonds. granted bonds is not the best defensively, but neither was ruth. you have to throw that out considering how well they bat. clemente was great not even close to bonds or ruth. mantle could have been just as good, but hampered by to many injuries, and drank to much. mays is better than bonds in my opinion. he did it all, and just imagine if he hit in a more friendly park than the polo grounds and candlestick. top three position players of all time are 1. ruth 2. mays 3. bonds
