Giving in to the pressure

Every now and then, I like to use this space to give tips to future journalists and those who may be generally interested in the ins and outs of the media. Today’s hint- if you don’t like what someone said, pretend they said something else. There’s really no rule against it and it will make for a...

Please explain to me what about Jay Cutler's NEVER GOING TO A BOWL GAME and good week of practice makes him the new Elway?

I don't understand how a guy that's 1) never lead his team to a bowl game, 2) never lead his team to winning record, 3) claim to fame is barely beating Tennesee on the road, an UNDERACHIEVING Tennesee on the road no less.

But then a guy like Brodie Croyle, who lead his team to back to back bowl games and a solid 10-2 record including 6-2 in the SEC which aint easy, was considered a 2nd teir guy. I just don't understand how performance in actual games isn't as highly touted as performance in the scouting combine, Senior Bowl practice and pro day workouts.

I really think Leinart will be a successful QB in the NFL. I think that Cutler will be the new Jake Plummer, not horrible but never makes you feel safe when HE is the hope of the comeback.

Agreed. There are a number of other qbs I take over Cutler. I just dont buy into the "hes the most nfl ready because he played without an O-line." Leinart is the total package and he's a winner. Doesnt get much better than that.
