2006 NHL Draft

I was going to try to do one of my own mock drafts... but soon realized i don't know near enough about alot of these kids who are in the draft this year. So i will just post one from USA Today. Interesting note... last season was the first time since 1997 where the team with the #1 overall pick...

IMO the Pens need to see what they can do to move up and grab Erik Johnson. Their offense is in much better shape than their defense. They need to build that up and what better way to do it than with an amazing player like Johnson.

Plus Johnson is really the only D-man worth taking in the top 10.

After Feasters goalie signing binge, our pick will probably change.

LMFAO! No WAAAAAAAY are the Pens taking Kessel, hahahaha oh that's rich!

Main reason is that Sir Sid hates Kessel because Phil's mum used to give Sir Sid the business when they used to play against each other. Plus Kessel reportedly has a big head so Kessel as a Flightless Birdie, nah don't see it.

Pens will take Jordan Staal IMO.

Yeah i agree. But you never know. You aren't (most times) going to get a player who will step in and play his first year in the mid to late first round. I think Sniper follows the younger guys more than i do. I'd be interested in seeing what he thinks the Bolts are going to do.

Yeah true. Maybe Feaster will give the Flyers the pick for Esche.

Well maybe Cindy needs to realize that its time to grow up and not let someone's mom giving you shit bother you anymore.

But i agree... i think they should take Staal if they don't go after Johnson. How can you not love the fact that he is 6'4, 215 lbs and soon to be 18 years old. Not to mention he's obviously got some good blood lines being the brother of Eric and Marc.

Uh Oh, but then again the Pens have the odd reputation of having the WRONG brother on their team, i.e. Pete Mahovlich, Rich Sutter, and Wayne Primeau come to mind ugh.....

lol, that settles it then... Jordan will be a Penguin.

But, Sutter and Primeau were on every team, so i don't think you should count them. And I dont' think Sutter was there very long either. I have no idea who Pete Mahovlich or his brother are.

Nope sorry, name doesn't ring a bell at all. Honestly, i know VERY LITTLE about hockey pre-1990. And Frank's career ended (in the NHL) in 1974. I was still 5 years away from being born. I never studied the history of the sport really... just picked up stuff along the way.

But i did look him up and WOW... his numbers are actually really good. Almost a point a game guy in his career.
