If the Pistons sign Rasheed, this may by the start of a new dynasty in the East. I had also heard a while ago that if Phil required, Shaq was going to retire too. Plus, they've got all sorts of smaller players probably going to leave the Lakers. Payton may stay for the last year on his conctract, but only because no one else will sign him long-term.

Kobe is gone, Malone is gone, Phil is gone, the Lakers are gone.

this is not the end of a dynasty. Just becuase they were not playing on all levels, where do you get off making statements like that. If the coach leaves the Kobe stays and who really cares if Malone & Payton leave, they are old and washed up.

Tell me the last time the Lakers did not make the playoffs?

Everyone in Basketball, as far as analysts are making the same statements. It is unfair to make such statements and the only reason that they do this is to cause controversy.... It really sucks that they do this but this is by no means the end of the Lakers, they will still be in the playoffs next year and the year after that.
