Fantasy Sports It's like Dungeons & Dragons, only without the geeky costumes and 20-sided dice.

Dumb Fantasy Hockey Questions

I am new to fantasy hockey and didnt know if there was a website anywhere that explains it. For instance in baseball you want good hitters right away and in football usually RB's are drafted first. Since I live in the South there are few fantasy magazines to read devoted to Hockey. I want to be competitive this year so when I beat Jay's ass it stings even more coming from a rookie.

yahoo's player rankings are okay for the most part, and yahoo has a Top 50 board that you can probably find if you look for it that lists the top 50 picks of one "expert."

As for the "money" position, you generally want good goalies. They aren't necessarily drafted first, though. In one of my leagues, the first goalie wasn't drafted until 5th and there were only 2 goalies drafted in the first round. That's rare though. Goalies are a bit of a limited commodity, but since there are only 8 people in our league, that shouldn't be as big a concern. In a 20 team league, on the other hand, I would definitely draft a goalie early. Anyway, this is my long rambly answer.

I'm sure if you google fantasy hockey info you could find some stuff. Fantasy stuff is blocked at my work thought.

Also, read a bunch at TSN : NHL - Canada's Sports Leader .. its the best hockey site in the world.

Thanks guys. I had to step out yesterday to get my cable hooked up. The guy ended up running out of my house and not doing anything. I still dont have internet at home so I may have to autodraft or go to a bar with wireless.
I would never draft a Flyer.
