Post McNabb outplays Favre, Eagles rout Pack (AP)

Donovan McNabb juked and jived the way he did early in his career. Brett Favre had a throwback night, too -- to his days of erratic interceptions. McNabb ran for two touchdowns and threw for a pair, leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a 31-9 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night....

Slow start with a bit of fumbalitis. They sure picked it up in the second half and showed some more greatness on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

Not too happy with the bend don't break D because that is one or two big plays away from being exploited. The secondary did well considering they were missing their starting and backup DB's. There was some pressure from the D but not enough to wreak the havoc they have or produce any sacks on Favre. Great goal line stand with the backups vs. the first team O for the pack to end the game.

The offense didn't miss a beat in the second half without Westy and Stallworth and then eventually Reggie Brown. Hopefully they are ok and ALL are back healthy next week. I liked McNabb taking the game on his shoulders and rushing as needed. He did have some erratic balls and his accuracy was a bit low.

Overal I am more than happy with the outcome and second half play. I would rather start slow and finish strong then start fast and end slow. Looking at the D of the Packers its tough too see how they struggle as much as they do with Al Harris, Ahmed Carroll, and Charles Woodson out there coupled with AJ Hawk and Nick Barnett in the middle and KGB and the underratted Aaron Kampman...works for me though.

BRING ON TO!

I couldn't agree more. On paper this defense should be at very least, good. If not even better than good, but they stink.

I have tried to look at all angles to figure it out but I can't...all I can think is that they are overated. Carroll was burned all night last night Harris was penalized often trying to cover stallworth and Woodson maybe he's just done. Hawk will be great and is young and mayed their DT's suck I don't know I can't figure it out. We need a packer fan to help us out lol.

And interestly enough, there are less and less Packer fans every day. Weird how that works.

But the Birdies do have to feel good with how they ended the game last night. Lets face it, the 4th quarter has been horrific for them this season. Its a good confidence booster for the team IMO... proves to themselves the are more than capable of shutting teams down late in the game... even without their starting RB to eat the clock or a few starting DB's to shut down the passing game.

Very true about the Pack.

I think its great for this team. I liked the fact they could move the ball and put up points missing their top 3 (save McNabb) offensive weapons throughout the game. Greg Lewis stepped up big time. Eveny your boy Avant was out there.

If we can get everyone healthy for Sunday this game should be great. No clear favorite IMO in this game...its gonna be a hard fought battle on both sides of the ball. The Key for the eagles will be shutting down the run and applying pressure to the statue that is Bledsoe.

I don't pretend to know anything about McCarthy or what kind of coach he is...nor do I know who he coached under...is he a defensive or offensive minded coach?

I don't think the Pack put in a big D change like to from or too a 3-4 or a 4-3 or cover two that they aren't used to? I dunno lol
