Cory Lidle, 34, dies in New York City plane crash
Earlier today, a small airplane carrying New York Yankees pitched Cory Lidle and another person crashed into a high rise residential building in new York City. Lidle, who had recently earned his piloting liscense, and the other person were both killed in the crash, and the plane ignited a blaze in the building that sent black smoke billowing into the sky above New York city.
The crash momentarily raised fears of another terrorist attack just five years following the September 11, 2001 attacks. The FBI and FAA, however, said there was absolutely no evidence that the crash was anything more than an accident.
