Wayne Derkotch, 40, was arguing with the coach Sunday morning during a game of 6- and 7-year-olds in northeast Philadelphia when he pulled out the gun, police said.

No shots were fired and no one required medical treatment, authorities said.

Derkotch was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment. He did not immediately return a telephone message left at his home Monday.

A referee who allegedly threw a punch at a man was also arrested on assault charges, but it was not clear if that fight was related to the first altercation, police spokeswoman Lisa Rotolo said.

At least he didn't hit another kid....though what does he think that is going to do besides get himself thrown in jail?

And a ref at the game punched someone as well. What is youth football coming to.

did you see the guy that asked his player to throw at the autistic kid got 1-5 years in prison? I cant wait to have a kid play youth sports.

1 to 5 isn't enough... he'll probably only serve the minimum. He paid a kid to hit a disabled kid... thats the same thing as him hurting the kid himself.

Dont you have to go to federal lock up with a sentence of a year or more? I dont see a guy thats such a coward to throw at an autistic kid getting out of federal a virgin. I think he deserves worse as well.
