Burrell To The Giants ?

I'm not a Phillies fan but this would be stupid. They have to get some real value in return. Benitez is not real value. They would be out of their minds to do this.

I would not mind Burrell being unloaed from this team purely based on salary, I actually like him. If we do make a move for Soriano he is basically worthless,m which some would argue he is anyhow (and not be completely wrong). What is needed is pitching specifically the pen, but I don't know ISH about this guy except he has bursitis and arthritis, what is he Rustys age?

benitez is upper 30's....don't know how much he'll help if hurt..if healthy, he could be a good setup guy for gordon...and a fill in if gordon is hurt...this is if he is healthy...but it seems you would save money on the deal

I don't even want to comment. Trading Burrell for Benitez would be over the top retarded. I dont' care if you are saving money or not... you don't want to add a shitty pitcher to your pen.

one problem with that: Schmidt is going to be a FA.

It is not a good move for the Phils. If they wanted to unload salary, get some good prospects and a half-way decent reliever and San Fran would probably let it happen.

Phils aren't really looking to dump salary... they did that last season. This is their year to make a real run. Prospects aren't going to help with that.
