The Cubs & free agent signings

So one has to wonder if the Cubs' retention of Wood & Ramirez has anything to do with the Tribune Co. being sold. Would a halfway decent Cubs team make any difference to a potential suitor? This might be something to watch...

Yeah I heard that On ESPN the Radio this morning! This is something to watch definatly Andy!! Does it really make any diff though, I mean c'mon > Woods will be on the DL within 30 days of the start of the season

True, but his name still has some caché and probably still draws fans. I just think that the Cubs might make some noise in the free agent market in an effort to sweeten the Trib pot.

My god.... you want to talk about the word "potential" doing some serious good for a player... look no further than Kerry Wood. This guy has gotten so much money for doing so little for the team.

Yeah everyone knows that he has spent most of his career on the DL but I read somewhere that his arm problems are due to his coaches in high school or when he was pitching in other, earlier leagues, really pressed him and made him use his arm way to much

I'm just glad to see that Hendry finallly acquired someone hopefully worth something, who knows he'll probably come into chicago and have the worst seasons of his career though. But i'll still stick with the Cubs even though its 99 and counting.
