Hey we beat Canada!

Well at least the Women's National Team did so. The US Women's National Team beat Canada 2-1 in extra time to win the CONCACAF Gold Cup and earn a place in the next Women's World Cup. 2nd Place Canada also won a spot in the World Cup and 3rd place finishers Mexico earned a playoff spot against Japan.

Sweet! I was actually watching this last night (2nd half on) but fell asleep on the couch during the start of overtime. When i woke up, the game was over and i was too tired to look up the result.

Man womens soccer is boring and painful to watch. But i'm glad the US got the win.

International women's soccer I can watch in small doses, the NCAA game I cannot stomach.

I mean I tried, I really did. But these chicks would put everything they had into a header and the ball would barely go anywhere. However, the Canadian goalie did make a really nice save late in the 2nd to help it get to overtime.

The plus about watching team USA? Heather Mitts. SMOKIN!
