Heisman winner Sullivan gets Samford job (AP)
Former Heisman Trophy winner Pat Sullivan will become the new head coach at Samford. Sullivan was an assistant head coach this season at Alabama-Birmingham. Samford athletic director Bob Roller said Thursday that Sullivan would replace Bill Gray, who was fired after the season. Sullivan won the Heisman at Auburn in 1971 and spent six years as an assistant at the school under Pat Dye.
