The Jester’s Quart: Fear the Boogeyman
Discovering that you’ve been missing out on a professional wrestler named The Boogeyman who spits chewed-up worms at his opponents is like suddenly finding out that Jessica Simpson’s breasts lactate Jack & Coke; in other words, as pleasantly disturbing as a surprise can be.

Wrestling on the Rant? OK I'll give it a shot.
1. These days it is all drama and no action. What action there is is is far to rehearsed and predictable. If this guy can't wrestle then he fits right in because these guys don't even pretend to wrestle anymore it is more like dancing. 2. The worm bit is cool and certainly original. 3. These guys are injured all the time. The ones that can go every night despite that are the ones that make it to star status. He might be smart enough to avoid that because of the recovery "methods" required. 4. Do not belittle the late Andre. I remember him in the early seventies when he proportioned normally(while still huge). The man could move and had some wrestling skills. His strength alone was enough to scare other wrestlers. Ken Patera once said that id Andre had trained as an Olympic or Power Lifter he would have shattered every record in existence. The Redskins tried him out as a defensive linemen(for punt and FG units). He always insisted that a contract was offered(the Skins neither confirm or deny). The fact is that beofore his disease caused his bones and organs to reducing his mobility and speed the man was an athlete. 5. Vincent K. McMahon whether you love him or hate is a s good a business man as there is. |

you can't really say wrestling doesn't try to accelerate minority careers since vince mcmahon took over...they have always had superstars of all backgrounds...koko b. ware was huge despite not being champ(cause he was to small and couldn't wrestle) but his gimmick made him a favorite...tony atlas and mr. universe were the biggest tag team during there time....you also have the samoans that were big...virgil had his time in the spotlight with ted dibiase...kamala was a big star in the wwf...and i'm sure there are a ton more i'm just forgetting...nickoli volkoff and the iron sheik are a few more from a different background that also had stardom

Sig - Scott said the business holds back black wrestlers, not me. And there's something to be said for the history of "non-pushes" for guys over the years; I mean, Kamala was a sideshow and Virgil was a butler for a white dude, remember.
As for wrestling on the rant...no, it's not a sport; but damned if I wasn't going to take a few column inches to talk about a guy who spits worms at his opponents! Thanks for reading, as always. -GDub |

well then direct my post to him...as far as non-pushes go...you can name countless white/spanish guys who were the vicitim of that also...a couple examples are brooklyn brawler and the model rick martel....virgil was a butler to a white guy but later became intercontinental champ and a member of nwo..albeit the one who got beat up all the time..my point is, since vince took over, he's given alot of different people pushes....from jimmy snuka all the way to boby lashley
