Figured this was going to happen just what they need to make their pitching stronger with that lineup. Though can't he be considered a risk due to age and injury?

This has to mean they have no shot at Clemens as well right? Please say NO!

I wouldn't say he's more of an injury risk than anyone else... He had 35 starts last season and 33 the season before. And he's only 34, which is kind of old, but really not all that bad. So I would say yes, his age is a risk, but not one that has proven to be a problem as of yet. However, we all know players can get "old" during the offseason.

But its the Yankees, they have the money... i say this is a good risk for them to take.

At least the Yankees hope so. I don't think you can expect a 20 win season from him this year. With their old staff, i'm sure they will go with a 6 man rotation sometimes.

i love this deal.....bring back a hero to yankee fans is a shrewd move...plus 34 is nothing...injuries could make this deal like pavano's but its only 1 year with a player option for next year...which he already said he won't pick up if he's hurt all year...if he stays healthy..i fully expect a new deal to be worked..probably a 3 year one...a healthy petitte is a huge upgrade over wright
