Some pay forums are quite successful.
Possibly allow paying members to gain better features, and have options to pay in month, half year, and year increments. offtopic.com does this, and they have quite a user base. |

I lurk around the forums and post whenever a topic comes up that I seem interested in, and of course there are the rant girls, and I hate to sound cheap but if I had to pay a $1 I'd probably just find another site to lurk around on
