Jr. done at DEI?

Wow,the bidding war that will take place to get Jr. in 2008
This will be his chance to get in the 3 car at RCR.

Forgive my ingnorance, but if Jr. leaves the team, what do they have left? Isn't he the cornerstone of Earnhardt Inc and as he goes so goes the business which he doesn't have a part of?

I have no idea what his step mother is thinking. She should be getting whatever Jr wants and paying him whatever he wants. But,I'm sure her ego is getting in the way and she wants to run the show.I see a ton of reasons Jr should leave and none why he should stay.I don't think he can win the cup with this team mostly coupled with a bad relationship with Theresa and I really think he wants to drive for Richard Childress in his Dad's old ride.Or at a minimum, hook up with a contending team if Budweiser will go with him.

Was this bad relationship this bad when Sr. was alive? Why wasn't Jr. more involved in the Earnhardt Inc. plans/company? You would know better than I if he should leave or stay but I would think there is a legacy his dad left that he would want to be a part of?

I kinda think they just sort of don't have a relationship and never did.
There is no real legacy at DEI. Dale Sr. just owned it.He never drove a car for his own company. Dale Sr.'s legacy was driving the 3 car with RCR. That
car was turned into Kevin Harvick's 29 car, but RCR still owns the rights to #3.

Interesting, makes little sense to me in reality, why own a company and not drive for it? What the hell is RCR?

Also,Dale Jr. has his own racing organization now and owns a car that runs in the Busch series.

Richard Childress Racing. He has a 3 car team right now plus more cars in the Busch series in which they won the championship this year.
Many drivers run for one team and own other cars or have part ownership in other cars.Just like having a seperate business I guess. All the money they make driving is what provides funds to start their own team and develop other drivers.

Seems like a complicated situation, nascar and teams, drivers companies etc...and like all drivers have their hands in multiple pots so to speak. Reality is that Jr. can just walk and take Bud with him and still be invovled in other companies making money hand over fist, so why even the issue at this poin

Richard Childress owns a ton of things in Charlotte from high rise office buildings to tons of other investments. A YMCA uptown is names after him. Another business man Felix Sabates owns a team or two as well as the minor league hockey team here and a share of the bobcats he tried to dontate to charity, but Bob Johnson wouldnt let him. Another own Hendricks owns like 10 car dealerships and interest in tons of things as well as has an interest in the local community college auto program.

Beacause he is the sports most popular driver. It would be like Peyton Manning not being happy and wanting to go to the Eagles.
