Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer, who absorbed his sixth consecutive playoff loss Sunday following an NFL-best 14-2 regular season, will return to the team for the 2007 season.

There is some press musings up here that the extension was written so that Schotty would never accept it and that they will go after Cowher next year.
