Okay I am tried of this!!!

We have all thought of Ideas and some have worked, some haven't. Most of the ones that I have done have been totally unsuccessful and I am really tired of Sportsrant.com not being more active.

You all know that I have and will do anything in my power to make this site grow and I firmly believe that if we put our heads together and come up with some really viable ideas, we can get this site going.

I am not saying to make it like ESPN, but we can make it more attractive or whatever.

Are you with me!!!

What can we do and let's be serious about this. Let's make 2007 the "Year of the Rant"

Well it started on a bad note, with jay possibly being blocked from work. I feel like we've had this conversation a million times, and there never seems to be a collective solution. I am willing to help out if I can in any way.

Yeah we have started this a million times, but it gets dropped. I say we come to an agreement on one idea and run with it, something that everyone thinks will work

Yes this is true!!! The more content the better, from a search engine stand point
and for those of you that have and are using IE, that alexa toolbar that I posted awile ago, that could help out totally

I think Rusty is onto something. I do read the Rant at night, but seldom post. I don't know if you are able to check site traffic, but is it busier at night like after 6 PM?

Nah the traffic is way down at night!! and on the weekends, which is normal for most sites on the net.

I do think that we can make this place better, It's the right direction, what you all think and let's try it. I am really willing to try something

I am thinking of pruning/deleting the members who are inactive and have a post count of zero!!! It will bring our membership numbers down, but who really gives a shit!

my buddy did say to me its tough to post cause by the time he gets home and posts about our day threads...noone responds and then he has to wait till he gets home the next day to see if anyone responded to him....

maybe you have to add a different element to the topics....expand and add things outside of sports..i don't know if thats a good idea or not

And here i was... thinking it was the sites owners' job to get more members to the site.

lol... anyway, the posting at night thing sounds good and all, but i don't usually have much of a desire to post at night. I'm here all day, and its not like i am "Mr. Busy", but i still have other things i do at night. Sure sometimes i get on, but i usually reserve my posting for during the day. I don't think we can be responsible for keeping this site active for 16 hours a day.

Do you advertise the site at all? My boss said he saw a link to it on the UFC homepage, or something like that. I have never seen anything else for it anywhere. How are people supposed to find out about the site if it isn't advertised anywhere? I think you could get quite a few more members from the Best coast if they knew about it. Plus, when its quiting time at 3pm over here, its night time on the yeast coast... thus "night time activity"

I work some odd hours and do sometimes access the site at night. My posts range from 4:30 AM to 10PM but most are during business hours. I think what is needed here is visibility and that does not mean just advertising.

I do have to agree with advertising.

We're all going to have to make a habit to post a little here and there at night. I post when I get home or if I have free time in one of the labs.
