or if the Rocks have their way...DelCarmen & Hansen

Or maybe some combination

Do you lay off and keep the young arms when you already have a pretty good offensive line up slated for this year?

Or do you grab Helton, bat him 5th (or possibly 2nd) and watch him pound the monster?

Or do you just pound tons of beers and forget we ever had this conversation?

I'd rather keep our young arms and watch them develop a little. If they don't pull through I'd see what I could get for them.

As long as JD stays healthy I think we're fine. Thats if we sign him, I haven't heard lately beyond something about opt out of his contract if he is injured or something to that sort.

Oh and OCL, you can add "-O C L" to your signature so you don't have to add it each post.

I grab Helton if i can. I think they can do it without giving up Hansen becuase it seems the Rockies are anxious to dump his contract and are willing to eat half.

If push come to shove however, I move Hansen. In my mind they already sent their best young pitcher to San Diego last year in that Mirabelli disaster.

the rockies might be anxious but they aren't complete fools..they want something in return...

i think i heard the talks are off...

jgac...the jd deal is done...they put a clause in there in case he gets hurt...

The deal is dead in the water. The boy genius wants to hang onto the young arms. I can see the reasoning but disagree with it. The Boston farn system hasn't produced many truly good pitchers over the last fifteen years. There is Papelbon and maybe Meridith(SD for Mirabelli) and the kid in Florida. I think the odds of any of the others being any good over the long haul are slim.
