EliteXC on Showtime 2/10

Starts at 10 pm on showtime. I watched the countdown to this, and i'm actually pretty interested in checking this out. I'm assuming this isn't a PPV? 5 fights in one night, and the main event being between Frank Shamrock and Renzo Gracie. Plus one very very hot chick fighter.

Yeah i messed everything up with my trip to New York on the 17th overnight into the 18th. I'm leaving really early for the Flyers/Rangers game in the afternoon and then the HBO boxing at night. So i'm going to have to switch with the ex, so that means i have her the weekend before that and after that.

Anyone watch this?? What an awesome night of fights! 5 fights in 2 1/2 hours and they were all good... i'm going to love having this to go with the UFC.

1st fight - KJ Noons vs. Crazy Horse Bennett - LOTS of shit talked between these two before the fight... started slow feeling each other out. Some decent shots landed and then BOOM... Crazy Horse floors Noons with a huge punch... 1st round KO to Bennett.

2nd fight - Gina Carano vs. Julie Kedzie - fight of the night. Anyone who doubted women fighting in MMA lost all doubt. Very good strikes and ground work, very good technically. Crowd gave the girls a standing ovation after it was over. Gina Carano (who is very hot) got the easy decision. She's very good.

3rd fight - David Loiseau vs. Joey Villasenior - total ass kicking. Villasneior was better from start to finish, and i can't believe Loiseau lasted all 3 rounds. Joey took him down like 6 times and just beat the hell out of him. Good action, but it was all coming from one guy. 3 rounds to none on all three cards.

4th fight - Antonio Silva vs. Cabbage Correira - Silva is GOOD! He's 6'4, 300 pounds and moves like a light heavyweight. Good take downs and submissions, and quick hands. He beats anyone in the UFC. Maybe the best heavy around outside of Fedor. Destroyed Cabbage MUCH worse than Silva and Arlovski were able to do. He's 8-1 with 8 1st round KO's.

Main Event - Frank Shamrock vs. Renzo Gracie - first round goes to Gracie, but neither fighter was able to do much. Gracie took him down and couldn't get much going. 2nd round, Gracie on top again... Shamrock lands 2 huge knees to the back of Gracie's head (which is illegal). Ref breaks them, Gracie doesn't know where the hell he is.. couldn't even get to his feet. They gave him time, but it was obvious he needed to get to a hospital. Fight stopped, and Gracie wins by DQ.

**Thoughts... Why were Steve Mazagotti and Herb Dean the refs? Are they not contracted by the UFC? Or did they leave? Event went well for their 1st time. Goldberg (ex-WWE wrestler guy) was pretty good as a comentator.

i didn't see it cause i don't have showtime...now i'm pissed cause its sounds like the fights were good...they got some good fighters too...sux the main event ended the way it did...i'll see if i can find some of these fights on youtube or google

shocked louiseau sucked..i guess he's pretty much done since he lost to franklin

mazzegatti and herb dean work for the state athletic commission so they work events, not for the company....they worked the pride show in vegas too...

Yeah it did suck the main event was stopped that way, but unless Shamrock totally turned things around he was going to lose the decision. Gracie was controlling the 2nd round when it was stopped. Frank was talking shit afterwards saying it was a good move for Gracie to quit. Saying "i just thought we came here to fight", etc. Gracie was obviously not faking it and literally could not get on his feet.

They said the same thing about Loiseau during the fight about him being done after the Franklin loss.
