Gay in the NBA

While trying to raise some interest for his upcoming book, former NBA
player John Amaechi announced Wednesday that he was gay. Under normal
circumstances, having a relatively unknown player (Cleveland, Orlando
and Utah), who lasted just five seasons in the NBA, reveal that he is
homosexual...

Making a wrong a right as in race relations is one thing.Making an immoral lifestyle acceptable ie. homosexuality is quite another.

NBA quotes tell a lot about these so called men!

The comments of the NBA players in the article show how immature these "men" are and why athletes don't come out to their teammates. Some NBA players set such low standards for their own behavior, the old Jailblazers and current Pacers teams come to mind, and consistently fail to achieve them! Many of the men in pro sports have been coddled and told they were special at a young age, they didn't have to follow all the rules, and grow up without the real world experience to understand the difficulties people face overcoming prejudice and close-mindedness. Good for John Amaechi, even if he is trying to sell a few extra books.

I don't see how wanting a gay guy in your locker room is a sign of maturity.
Why would one have to lower his moral standards to become mature?

Welcome to the rant apguli! Gay, smay who freaking cares. I certainly don't. The book is "coming out" to make money so I find Amaechi's reasons for "coming out" more a a moral issue than his being a homosexual.
