Minnesota signs Culpepper for 10 years.

Vikings owner Red McCombs resolved one of the biggest personnel questions facing the franchise Friday by signing quarterback Daunte Culpepper to a 10-year, $102 million contract extension that included $16 million in guarantees.

Sure Culpepper is only 26 years of age, but 10 years? Wait a minute Culpepper could suck in 5 years and Minnesota could release him without owing him a dime once they do. Not sure how backloaded the contract is, but I would think they did backload it a little bit. Minnesota was $15.4 million under the salary cap before this deal took place.

Great. How long until Randy Moss holds out for a similar if not better contract.

After all, Randy makes Daunte look good, right?

Moss back in the summer of 2000 signed an eight-year, $75 million contract extension. It will be sometime before he can open his damn mouth wanting some more money. But being who he is and the.......

big part of the salary cap on 2 players now for minnesota.

the vikings did that "two catches a quarter for moss" thing and it made culpepper throw bad passes trying to force balls into double coverage. I like him, he is a good QB. just wait, he will be back to his old self.

yep, 8 catches a game was ridiculus. how is daunte supposed to do that in double coverage? and they have no running back, so everyone knows where the ball is going
