Yeah, they played pretty well yesterday. To tie a top 4 or 5 team in the East isn't all that bad. They just blow in shootouts (1-7), so when that started i knew the Pens were getting the extra point. Biron looked very good!

Really sucked to blow the game like that, Biron did look good, first goal wasn't at all his fault nothing he could do with that. The young D players are nice to watch but you can really see their age/experience at some points.
I thought we'd see at least one fight, but alas no.

He would have gone to his junior team.
Yes i do. They aren't good enough to win the cup this year and are going to have major issues with contracts in a couple of years. Which could possibly hurt their chances down the road when they are actually ready to make a real cup run. |

i don't agree still....the guy has done more than expected and should be in the nhl...contracts can be reworked and restructured if they are smart...and then they won't have those problems...right now they are legit contenders even if you don't believe that...

1. No, they aren't legit contenders with that defense. You will see.
2. Contracts in the NHL aren't near the same as any other league. When their rookie contracts are up, the players are going to get huge money. You can't re-work them like other sports. Its going to be a major issue when they have to get rid of half the team to pay both Malkin and Staal (if they both keep up this level of play). |

why can't they sign malkin lets say next year to a long term deal with bigger money up front and then in 2 years sign staal so its not all in the same year?? wouldn't that alleviate some of the salary cap issues
