For trying to takeout Ryan Hollweg in a game last week by using his stick. Thank god he his Hollweg in the chin and not in the neck, as planned.

He only received a 25 game suspension, which could carry into next season. Some believe that he should have received a lifetime ban.

Thoughts?

I think 25 game was right, possibly more. But I do not think lifetime would have been appropriate.

Yeah if Bertuzzi didn't get banned then no way Simon should be. 25 games is too many IMO.

I don't care who he hit, i don't think it should be that long of a suspension.

Simon's suspension is just right
Bert's was too short.

Thats true. I don't think its right that Simon gets more games than Bertuzzi. Clearly what he did wasn't as bad... but yes, they should have suspended Bertuzzi longer. Then i would be okay with Simons suspension.

in a way its different cause of the use of the stick...put a precedent on not using the stick to attack a player...bertuzzi's was way to short but its the precedent set for that type of action

anyway...jay sucks

And it always a progression in the length of the suspension.The next incident,and there will be a next eventually,will be 28 or 30 games.

i think thats fair...if a guy is dumb enough to do something like that after this, he should get a longer suspension
