Inconsistency

while everyone is bitching about this "altercation" between the suns and spurs...i'll just bring up a point that always drives me nuts. i saw the cheap shot against nash dealt by horry, and he ought to be taken out to a back corner and just curbed, but how about the cheap shots and flagrant fouls by baron davis and the rest of the crew on the warriors against the jazz?? seriously, they're not exactly a spit shine clean team, but you don't hear the boyz at ESPN saying anything about it, or calling for suspensions, but the bottom line is that players like kobe bryant were suspended during the regular season for stuff less than what the warriors pulled. yes, i'm a jazz fan, i live in utah, so of course i'm going to be a little one sided, but honestly i just want a little consistency on the part of the NBA, the media, everyone across the board.

Mike and Mike this morning were bitching about the other dirty players getting away with it. It is stupid, but its the rules... they have to change the rules to stop this.

I do know what you are saying though, Bowen and Davis have apparently been pretty dirty and the league lets it go. Stoudamire doesn't tough a single person and he gets suspended for a game because he wandered away from the bench.

but the rule says Amare can't do it, so he shouldn't have.

I guess I shouldn't really comment on this but I will. I like the rough stuff in the NBA. My favorite Celtics-Lakers play of all time is the McHale clothsline takedown of Rambis in the finals.

I personally think Amare should have been suspended. Everyone keeps talking about how he stopped and he was just checking on a teammate. Check the replay people he didn't stop he was stopped by his coaches otherwise he may have kept right on going. Secondly if he really was running out to check on Steve Nash then why as he ran by did he not even look down at Nash to see if he was ok, why didn't he stop by him drop to a knee or try to help him out? And in the league's defense say Amare doesn't get held up by his coaches, a Spurs player sees him coming throws an elbow or punch his way, no we have the bench clearing brawl that the NBA does not want. That's why the rule is in place.

About Boris Diaw, I would say if anything because he did actually stop on his own and turn back they could have tried to consider it but with Amare in my mind the case is closed.

And to all the idiots who keep saying Duncan should be suspended, there was no altercation when he stepped out onto the court. There was one player on the floor everyone else was already running back the other way to play the game. Was he wrong to step on the court yes, should he be fined or hae gotten a technical yeah, but to say he should be suspended for that is wrong and idiotic.

The league can't just go changing the rules in the middle of a series to benefit another team which is what would have happened if the suspension didn't get handed down. I think they are protecting the integrity of their game and they made the right call. Just imagine if they could abritrarily change the rules to help a team win, they could make it so that the suns baskets are worth 5 points instead of just 2. But that wouldn't be fair.

The way he cries, I wouldn't mind Duncan being suspended for the rest of the playoffs...
He's GOT to be the biggest cry baby in all of basketball!!!
