2007 Copa America

GolTV has secured the English speaking rights for the upcoming Copa America Tournament to be held in Venezuela.

"Beginning June 26, 2007 and running through July 16, 2007 GolTV will be the place to be to catch the action, via live matches and more. The in-depth coverage will not only feature all 26 live matches, but also news and highlights throughout its proprietary and highly followed shows such as American Soccer, which will shadow the U.S. performance, and other premium shows such as GolTV news that will provide rich in-depth analysis and commentary of what has occurred or is expected to occur on the field of play.

The games to be played at different venues throughout Venezuela feature play by the following national teams as they vie for the title: The United States, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Venezuela, Peru, and Uruguay.

The quarter finals will be played on 7/7/07 and 7/8/07, semifinals on 7/10/07 and 7/11/07 and the final will occur 7/15/07 with a match-up for third place on 7/14/07"

yea not me..i get fsc..jay gets goltv too..just like the nfl network, i'm the only one who won't be able to watch it from the comforts of my home...gonna have to find a pub that's showing them...that 7/2 game is looking ripe to be at the bar all nite and take off the 3rd

The US and Argies match should be a real test no doubt and GolTV is showing every game not just the US games from what I understood.

I agree with ssigs, if she don't like soccer then she loses points in my book as well.

Keep in mind that the US also has the CONCACAF Gold Cup before the Copa America. If I were selecting the squad I select mainly MLS guys for the Gold Cup and bring in our Euro players heavily for the Copa America.

yea but he won't...he'll do the opposite cause they feel the gold cup is more important..so i expect only a few to play in both...conrad if healthy...landycakes...dempsey should play in both but probably won't..gooch probably gold cup

who will play forward is what i wanna know...hopefully NOT ching...i'd like to see kenny cooper get some time up there...johnson, twellman and jovan kirovski or ante razov(neither will happen)

midfield i think mapp should get some time...caught the 1st half last nite and i liked his role in the middle but could be dangerous on the left too

here's my player pool for both tournaments and who i would choose to play when:


qk - howard, keller and whatever mls goalie is playing well

defense - conrad(starter - both), gooch(starter - both), bornstein (starter - gold cup), albright, bocanegra(starter - copa), cherundolo, gibbs , heath pearce(starter - gold cup), spector, whitbread(starter - copa), todd dunivant

midfield - adu(lets see what he can do....starter - gold cup on the left), brad davis, dempsey(starter - both as attacking midfielder), mapp(starter - left mid - copa), mastroeni(starter - both defensive midfielder), beckerman, ricardo clark(starter - gold cup - rm), josh gros(rutgers), sasha kljestan(starter - copa..throw him to the wolves to see how he reacts)

forward - cooper(bench but getting considerable time in 1 of the tourneys), johnson(starter - copa), twellman(starter - gold cup), landycakes(starter - both), kirovski(also getting some time to play in one of them), ching..would rather see jacqua
