LOVE the fact that there are 3 Revs players, but hate it at the same time. But they have players to fill in for them all except for Twellman. And Dempsey is still a Rev to me, so i'm excited he made it as well.

yeah its a bit much to wrap my head around... no other sport that I watch is like this. AKA, the world championships for hockey that just finished. The USA was hurt (and other teams as well) because alot of their best players were still playing in the playoffs. Seems like soccer is the only sport where the country cups override the season.

Excellent observation Jay, that is true. It is that way in soccer because the World Governing body FIFA is stronger than any other world governing body in sport. I don't think the NHL would send their players to the world championships every if the IIHF mandated it, the NHL would more than likely give them the finger, same with basketball, FIBA would never be able to tell the NBA what to do.

plus i don't think and this could be my prejudice speaking....that any other athlete from other sports take playing for there country as serious as they do in soccer..to play for your country is the ultimate goal while in basketball, baseball its not that big of a thing

I think you are definitly right about athletes as a whole Sig. I mean sure there are probably some players that love it as much as soccer guys, but certainly not as a group.
